Announcement: Life OpShop is permanently closed.
To the community of Mooroopna, and all our OpShop customers,
Sadly, due to the lasting impact of the October flood and issues with insurance, we have made the difficult decision to permanently close Life OpShop.
We understand this will be upsetting news for our community. Please know it was not a decision reached lightly. We were faced with many difficulties including problems with ongoing flood insurance. Also, insurance delays gave us no certainty of when a rebuild would commence, let alone be completed. These factors both contributed to making a reopening financially unviable.
We would like to thank our OpShop Manager Sandy Anderson for her longstanding dedication to the OpShop and her compassionate heart for the community. Heartfelt thanks also to our other staff Lizzie Livesay & Kara Mudford, as well as the many volunteers who have served over the years. A special mention and thank you also to our two previous managers Steve Kington and Kitch Robertson.
Last but not least, we would like to thank our loyal community of customers and donors for their support and generosity.
As a church, we are still committed to our community. Welfare is still a priority. The closing of this chapter is definitely sad, but we are excited about what the future holds.
